National UI Issues Conference

Date
Annual event held each spring

Sponsor
UWC’s National Foundation for Unemployment Compensation & Workers’ Compensation. The National Foundation sponsors educational events and conducts research on unemployment & workers’ compensation issues that are of importance to employers. UWC, which manages the Foundation, is the only national business organization devoted exclusively to representing employers before policy-makers on unemployment insurance and workers' compensation.

Purpose
This prestigious event is the national business conference on public policy and cost containment practices connected with the unemployment insurance program. Employers pay $30 billion or more each year in federal and state unemployment taxes and contributions on behalf of their workers. Employers can control these costs by following best practices in managing their workforce and UI claims and payroll taxes, and by staying engaged in the debate on important public policy issues affecting the UI/ES system.

Program
The UI Conference program provides guidance on best practices in government and the private sector. Includes general sessions, workshops which cover the UI system (from "nuts and bolts" to advanced issues), luncheon, and reception. Learn new ideas and make contacts that enable you to avoid and solve problems, win claims, and cut taxes.

Attendees
Attendees include employers and business organizations, government officials involved in administration of the nation’s unemployment insurance laws and state employment services agencies, and companies providing unemployment claims, payroll tax, and accounting services. Attendees make contacts and learn new ideas from the conference program, resulting in reduced costs.
